Thanks for stopping by the Riverbend website. We hope you'll enjoy the experience and discover something special that is meaningful to your life. A lot of folks hear about us and ask what type of church we are. In a nutshell, we are a Bible-based congregation of baptized believers who adhere solidly to the sovereignty of God in all things, which includes salvation.

Denominationally, we are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. We teach and preach what some people call the "Doctrines of Grace" because these doctrines are purely biblical and because they form the solidarity on which the Southern Baptist founders based their convictions. In short, we are a Reformed Southern Baptist Church.

Family Foundations
March 16-18 are the dates for Riverbend's next Family Foundations Conference, which will be open to people in the community, as well as to all Riverbenders. This event will focus on families with children and will address advanced education issues for young people. Alex Chediak (right), an author-professor who formerly served under Dr. John Piper at Bethlehem Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., will be guest speaker. He will lead sessions on Friday evening and Saturday morning, plus preach at Riverbend on Sunday morning. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Engineering & Physics at California Baptist University.

Attention: Expectant Mothers
Why not plan to join the other Riverbenders who will be attending the next Sole-Savers foot-care experience on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Youth Center? Receive a free 20-minute pedicure, a foot-washing and a foot-massage, courtesy of some Riverbenders who have been trained in those areas.  Enjoy some free snacks and some great fellowship. Plus, you will walk away with happier feet.

February 5, 2012
Bring a friend or unchurched family member to Riverbend on Super Sunday, Feb. 5. This "high attendance day," also called The Church Assembled, is designed to have as many people as possible in Bible Fellowship Groups (7:45 a.m., 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.) and morning worship (9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.).

‘Affirmation of Faith’
All Riverbenders in leadership will publicly sign Riverbend’s Affirmation of Faith (doctrinal statement) during Mid-Week Worship (6:15 p.m.) on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

Attention: Men
An all-male supper is planned for February at the church on Friday, Feb. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center. Mark your calendar.

Dr. Hargrave on the Agenda
Dr. R.A. Hargrave will be speaking twice (Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m.) at the True Church Conference in Muscle Shoals, Ala., during Feb. 16-19. Storms of Reformation is the theme of the event, which also features David Miller, Barry King, Brett Beasley and host pastor Jeff Noblit. Miller, King and Noblit have all preached at Riverbend in the past. If you are in that area during mid-Feburary, you are invited.  It is FREE.  For more information click here.

Free Auto Inspection
Have your vehicle(s) checked by the men of Riverbend during the church's free Auto Safety Inspections on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 9 a.m. till noon in the church parking lot. Fluids, air pressure, hoses, belts, lights, wipers, etc. will be checked, with fluids and air added, as needed. The entire process takes 15 minutes. 

Surprise! Surprise!
A surprise Fun Night is on the agenda for all Persevering Saints (age 55-up) on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. in the Worship Center. It will primarily be a time to relax and fellowship with fellow Riverbenders your age. Light snacks are included, as are some games, some laughs and other fun items. It's free. No advance registration necessary.

Leadership Training
All adult Bible Fellowship Group leaders are asked to attend a training session on Sunday, Jan. 29, from noon to 2 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. This includes teachers, assistant teachers, car group leaders, secretaries, fellowship coordinators, ministry coordinators, outreach coordinators and prayer coordinators. The meeting includes a working lunch ($3 per person). If both husband and wife are BFG leaders, or if a BFG leader is a single parent, childcare is provided (each child's meal with be $1). Wednesday Suppers

Fellowship Supper each Wednesday (4:15-6 p.m.) in Fellowship Hall includes a choice of two entrees. It also contains a special kids menu. Prices of the meals: Under 4 & over 90, free ... ages 4-12, $4 ... all others, $5 ... family rate, $20.

Personal Prayer Time
The regular Friday prayer ministry, known as "Stand in the Gap," is available during 3-7 p.m.  This is the come-and-go-as-you-please intercession time, is usually in the Worship Center.  You may pray as a family, as a couple, as a small group or alone.  This is a great time for intercession and personal worship ... Two corporate prayer opportunities are available: "Bless This House" on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. in Room 128; "Pastors Prayer Partners" on Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. in Room 187.
