Welcome to Riverbend Church

Facts & Figures

Riverbend is strategically located in one of the fastest growing regions of Central Florida.

Riverbend is located on a beautiful 112-acre campus on the western side of Ormond Beach ... at 2080 West Granada Boulevard (State Road 40), a mile west of Interstate 95 (exit 268).

Riverbend moved to its current location on February 23, 1997.

Riverbend is pastored by Dr. Roy Hargrave, who is his 21st year in that role (and 36th year in the gospel ministry).

Riverbend Community Church became the church's official name on January 1, 1998.

Riverbend was formerly known as First Baptist Church of Ormond Beach. It was established in 1956 by First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach.

Riverbend is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Florida Baptist State Convention, the Halifax Baptist Association and Founders Ministries.

Riverbend has some 1,200 current active members.

Riverbend operates on an annual budget of $2.4 million.

Riverbend contains an executive staff of eight full-time pastors and one part-time pastor.

Riverbend annually gives more than $100,000 to mission causes.

Riverbend operates its own classical Christian school (Riverbend Academy, grades K-12) and its own daily pre-school (The Promise Land).

Riverbend conducts an on-going nine-week seminar for prospective members. It's called Discovering Riverbend. More information can be obtained from the church office (672-1821).

Riverbend membership may be accomplished by meeting these criteria:

evidence of salvation
baptism by immersion after salvation;
completion of Discovering Riverbend (ten-week seminar for prospective members);
attendance at a "Welcome" barbcue at the home of Dr. R.A. Hargrave, Senior Pastor;
signing the Riverbend Membership Covenant and By-Laws;
completion of a testimony interview with two staff pastors;
participation in a new member recognition service.
