About

Kyle was born and raised in St. Louis, studied urban ministry and missions at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. The Lord saved him during high school, where he gave his life to Christ and began to yearn to proclaim Him to those with least access to the Gospel.  After university he served as youth and family pastor at a church in Kansas. Kyle has been involved in university student ministry, youth discipleship and church planting over the years. Kyle and Dela married in 2014 and now have been serving unreached people groups in North Africa for five years, through intentional everyday conversations, business and church planting.

Dela was born in Honduras, studied to become a psychologist and later served with Samaritan's Purse for six years in HIV counseling and Children's Heart Project. She learned more about theology and global outreach in MEDA (Evangelical Ministries of the Americas), a Bible institute in Siguatepeque, Honduras, and Propempo International, a ministry based in the United States. Ever since she came to Christ in her youth, the Lord has opened doors in serving with internationals. Over the past five years, He deepened her passion for sharing the gospel with Muslim unreached peoples.

The Stringers have been in-country for five years, two and-a-half of which we have spent learning language and culture. They have focused in making and growing intentional relationships in our neighborhood and with young adults, whether students or people in similar stages of life as us.

Kyle: "We need to talk about Christ in our everyday conversations and consistently bring up the Gospel. It would be sad to help someone develop in many areas of their life and support them emotionally on their way to hell and not share the centrality of the Gospel. The Lord is sanctifying us through many humbling experiences and failed conversations, only to encourage us to have a consistent priority in proclaiming the Gospel message. Our focus is with one-on-one conversations to speak about Jesus and telling His stories, preferably to expand to whole families. So, for example, we befriend sisters, mothers, cousins and share with all of them so when the time comes and by His grace, one or many members of a family come to faith in Jesus, the other members of the family would have already been exposed to the Gospel. Trust and invitation to deep relationship with locals takes time and letting go of our comfort zone."

Kyle: "We serve with a small 'international' house church called Cornerstone and a local church plant that Cornerstone planted. We do this through discipleship and baptizing of new believers, follow-up with newcomers, studying the Bible with locals, equipping believers with resources on how to defend their faith, growing spiritually and sharing the Truth themselves with their family and neighbors. We want the local church to be both spiritually and financially healthy, so we also provide job training, business consulting, development, and advertising for the believers to have success in their trades and businesses. We are also working on translating Christian family discipleship books to Arabic so families can be guided through reading and discipling their children in God’s Word. This is very new and challenging for all the families as they try to raise their kids in Christ as Muslim background believers."

Kyle: "We are a bi-national (American-Honduran) family living in a different place from both our nationalities. Our two children were born in North Africa, so this is the place on earth we call home."
