Know the Lord in Redemption Rather than in Judgment
Pastor: Jason Karr Scripture: Exodus 5:1– 15:27
As Israel stood trapped under the oppression of Egypt, God revealed Himself as the one true Lord who alone has power to judge, redeem, and save. In this overview of the Exodus, we see how God confronted Pharaoh, exposed the false gods of Egypt, and displayed His unmatched sovereignty through the ten plagues. Each judgment demonstrated that no earthly power, false religion, or idol could stand against the Lord of heaven and earth.
The Exodus is not merely a story of ancient deliverance—it points us directly to Jesus Christ. Just as the Passover lamb provided a substitute for God's people, Christ became the perfect Lamb of God who bore judgment in the place of sinners. Through the Passover, we see both the holiness of God in judgment and the mercy of God in redemption.
This message calls us to forsake every false god, trust in the Lord alone, and find hope in His sovereign power. Whether facing doubt, suffering, spiritual warfare, or the pressures of a fallen world, believers can rest in the God who keeps His promises and accomplishes His purposes. The same God who delivered Israel is the God who saves through Christ today.
